FROM ONE PICTURE TO A LITTLE PAUSE

How photo puzzles work

  1. Choose and check. Select one JPG, PNG or static WebP. Check its upright preview. The full image keeps its proportions; nothing is secretly cropped.
  2. Pick your grid. The two difficulty settings aim for about 24 or 48 pieces. The buttons show the actual count and columns × rows for your photo, so you know exactly what you are starting.
  3. Find the connections. Drag correct neighbors together and move them as a group. Use the reference, edge filter, zoom or keyboard controls. Finished groups stay on the board.
  4. Return with the original. Piece positions are saved on this device, separately from the art gallery. After a refresh, reselect the exact original file. A progress download also requires that original image.

Can I try it before choosing my photo?

Yes. The original synthetic “Hills by the lake” sample is 1000 × 600 pixels. Try it, move a few pieces, download the sample and refresh. Reselect the downloaded sample to continue the same puzzle.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. This tool reads and prepares the photo locally. The image and its working copy stay in page memory. Local progress and exported JSON contain a file fingerprint, dimensions and game state, not image bytes or a filename. No photo URL or public puzzle page is created.

What happens if I choose the wrong file?

A restore checks the whole file fingerprint, not just its name. An edited or re-encoded image will not match. A failed decode or canceled replacement keeps the previous puzzle. The tool accepts one still image up to 12 MiB, 16 megapixels and 8192 pixels per side, with a width/height ratio from 0.45 to 2.4. Phones may need a smaller file.

What about my museum-art collection?

Your art collection and unfinished art puzzles remain separate. Photo progress keeps one original photo and its two grids. Replacing that photo asks before replacing its record. There are no photo uploads, cloud sharing or cross-device synchronization.
